EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT Mrs. Eryl McNally MEMBER OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT East of England Region‘The Role and Place of
SMEs in Framework Programme VI (Research & Development) I would like
to invite you to attend a conference I am organising on Friday, 20th September, 2002 at the University of
Hertfordshire’s Fielder Centre in Hatfield from 11am to 4pm. I am aware of the concerns of many SMEs in the East of England Region regarding
the 6th Framework Programme’s financial rules and banking and
security levels. The conference is
aimed at addressing and answering many of these questions, and will also
highlight the opportunities available to SMEs within the Programme. European Commission representatives Richard Escritt and Robert-Jan Smits
(Research DG), and Karl-Heinz Robrock (Information Society DG) will be attending
in order to advise on all aspects of the 6th Framework Programme. The event
will be of keen interest to those SMEs with previous experience of Framework
Programmes, or who are interested in future participation, and will provide an
excellent opportunity for active participation and questioning. A fee of £35 is
being requested in order to cover costs, including buffet lunch and
refreshments, and cheques should be made payable to ‘Eryl McNally MEP’. I hope you
will join us, and would be grateful if you would complete and return the
enclosed acceptance form. As the
maximum number of delegates is being limited to 50, to allow for detailed
discussions, acceptances will be treated on a first come, first served basis,
